  • About This Site

    How I got Here:

I created this weblog ( blog ) so that I could share interesting items and things that I learned during my travels as a freelance technology consultant.

Since 2004, when I first became aware of the blog community, my level of knowledge on a wide range of topics has grown substantially by reading other people's blogs. In late 2005, over the Christmas holiday, I decided to join that community and this site is the result.

    Site Organization:

I have broken the site into Categories that outline my areas of interest or things on which I'm working.  With the exception of two categories, this site is mostly details my professional endeavors.

The sections, Tall Tales and Meanderings are, respectively, in support of my literary habit and the unbiased observations and experiences of the world around me.

    Content:

I have a very simple rule for my posts: If it takes me longer than 2 hours of searching to find a solution or if I create a solution that is not of strategic importance to my company, then I write about it.  I feel that if I can save someone else two hours of searching or researching themselves, then I've made our community a better place.

    RSS Feeds:

Each category has its own RSS feed.  The main RSS feed, simply labeled: RSS, and located near the bottom of the table of contents, aggregates the entire site into a single feed.  So, if you have an RSS feed reader, you can subscribe to whatever feed or feeds most interest you.
