Holiday parade – Coppell, Texas 2008
Last Saturday we had our annual holiday parade here in the town that is Coppell, Texas. This year they opted for a night parade which makes all the difference in the world, if you ask me. Since this was the first parade at night, they asked the Coppell CERT team to help with security on the parade to make sure we didn't end up with too many squished folks along the parade route.
I was one of several volunteers and we generally had a great time. Got to see a bunch of our friends and neighbors and had a pleasant two mile walk to top it off.
Along the way, I overheard the following conversations:
Small boy: "Do we get to stay up late tonight?"
Small girl: "Merry Christmas. I'm a princess."
Golden Lab: "everyoneishavingfunwhydontigettohaveanyfun"
( dogs don't know how to punctuate. )
Anyway, a good time was had by all and I am sure next year we'll again have an evening parade.
