  • In the age of blogs, are electronic newsletters relevant?

Posted on July 9th, 2007 mitch Print Print 2 comments

    Greetings Everyone,

I have had on my list of things to do, adding a monthly electronic company newsletter to the list of offerings I provide.

This past weekend, while reviewing my notes and planning the coming week, I started thinking about it again.

But to be quite honest, I'm really not sure that I need a newsletter.  Here's why:

    1) The information that I post on my blog is much more time-sensitive since I usually post it when I see it or do it rather than waiting for a specific time of the week or month.

    2) Blogs are interactive and public so you can have "conversations" with readers through the comment process.

The only reason that I can think of for having an electronic newsletter is the fact that not everyone reads blogs ( and doesn't know about RSS ) and if it doesn't show up in their inbox, they never see it.

If you have an opinion on the issue, I'd love to hear it so please leave a comment.

    Thanks, Mitch
