If you would like to globally change the default View for an entity within CRM, perform the following steps from the CRM Web Client logged on as someone who has at least the System Customizer role:

  1. Select Settings, Customization.
  2. Edit the Entity you wish to change.
  3. Select the Forms and Views page.
  4. Click once on the View you wish to make the Default.
  5. Click the More Actions button.
  6. Click Set Default.
  7. Click save and close
  8. Click Publish.
  9. Navigate back to a CRM area where that entity is visible.
  10. Click on the Entity to show its contents.
  11. Verify that the View: is what you just selected in step 4.

That's it.

Unfortunately, there is no way to do what you wish. It is a common request, so you're not alone.

    Hi,

It is possible to set the default public view based on a user's security role using a plug-in. See here: http://lovepeaceandcrm.blogspot.com/2009/02/changing-system-view-defaultvisibilty.html

Possibly. You would need to connect to the retreivemultple message. I've heard of people doing this but never attempted it myself.

    Thanks, Mitch

I know this is an old thread but wondered if you could help. I want to change the default view on an entity to one I have created – however when I go into forms and Views the view I created is not there for me to select and make default. Do you know how I would do this? Many thanks
